Those of you that do it, do you put it all in a blender and blend it? I'm going to try it, and I figure you must do it like this or it would be pretty clumpy?

do you mean whey/oats shake?

or oatmeal cooked?

if in a shake I do not use a blender, just a shaker cup, and you have to shake it every couple drinks cuz they settle to bottom

if you mean oatmeal/whey cooked, I cook oats then when they are done I stir in whey

I meant in a shake. I'll try it, sounds nasty though, yuck :)

I can have the cooked oats and whey when I am off, unless I want to make it ahead. I love cooked oatmeal and chocolate whey!!

no microwave at work??

Ewwwww, I cannot eat my oatmeal in the microwave. I cook mine on the stove til it's crunchy. You can pick mine up with your fingers!!

microwave is the only way to cook oatmeal:)

I put mine oats in a coffee grinder then scoop it in the shake

I put in regular oatmeal in my shakes raw all the time. Can't even taste it

I cook my oatmeal in the microwave and then put a double scoop of Whey and flaxseed oil on them.

I blend my oats all the time. Though it's true that they settle quickly so you have to shake it up repeatedly. Try this combo, 1.5 cups of water, 2 scoops of whey, 2 servings oats, 1/2 cup of mixed berries, 1/2 tbsp flax oil, sweeten to taste.

My girlfriend gags everytime I take a swig of flax straight from the bottle. :vollkomme

That's the only way to get down a lot of oatmeal! Though cleaning it out so others that use the grinder don't taste your oatmeal is a pain in the freaking ass.

I made my oatmeal in the microwave the other day...I had to throw it out. One look at it and it turned my stomach. And I can pretty well eat anything!! LOL

I take my flax from the spoon too. But I chase it with a drink of some sort. Although the orange stuff is not too bad.

Best way I've found to do this is make my shake (whey, water/milk/supps/whatever) and pour it on uncooked oats and eat it like any breakfast cereal.

Hey, that sounds interesting. I'll have to try it that way :)

I have a whey/oat shake all the time. I use a magic bullet blender and get the oats chopped fine and then add whey and some crystal light for flavoring.

Until crunchy? I cant stand eating oatmeal mainly because of the texture when wet...I know weird but with it being crunch I believe I could handle it. How do you make it that way?

Thats the way I do it as well. Blend and chug...

i like chewing my oatmeal in my shakes... especially when 300 had me using the sugery kind... if u mix match the flavors of oatmeal to whey.. u get really good flavors..

I have NEVER mixed my oats in to my shake or mixed whey into my oatmeal. I guess I was just always worried about adding too many extra cals. I eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and usually another one as a PreWO or PWO carb. The only time I take a shake is my PWO shake that I mix with Dextrose.

I might have to try cooked oatmeal with chocolate whey. Would the ON Chocolate whey taste good with oatmeal?

I put the Whey right in with the oatmeal, add some "healthy blend" trail mix from BJs, water... tastes great! Vanilla whey is a lot better than Chocolate with oats in my opinion.

ohmigosh, what have I been missing!! I tried this last night: 1 scoop ON chocolate deluxe mixed with my cooked oatmeal and it was DELICIOUS. WOW! Guess I have a new PreWO and PWO meal choice!

Yummy!

I use the minute or roll oats and just put it in the shaker with the whey. You may want to let it sit for a few minutes afterwards. The oats tend to fall to the bottom so make sure you are shaking it up as you drink it. Of course I am drinking more out of convenience when I do it this way.

Irongirl, I have been doing this for awhile. I used to put a cup of whole oats in the blender with 2 cups milk, 1 serving protein powder, and 2 T. peanut butter. But recently I discovered that if you put the dry oats in first by themselves, the blender will make them into a powder that stays in suspension much more readily. Of course, it gets a bit thick if it sits too long but its still better than the crunchy texture and you can always thin it out. I use a chocolate powdered protein but you could always add cocoa or chocolate syrup for a more Reese's Cup flavor.

I have this every morning. I just throw the oats in and mix it all. Depending on the shaker cup, it will either be easy to drink or harder than hell. Blender or even a food processor (small) is the easiest since it stays close to a suspension. There are some companies out there that sell ground oats.

Word of advice: don't mix the whey with your oatmeal and then microwave it. It turns out... odd. Not tasty, not totally gross.....just definintely not ideal. Microwave/cook your oats and THEN add the whe protein.

I found this out the hard way yesterday ;)
