Hitting the gym with my 13 year old daughter lately! She wants to be a better soccer player etc but I can't say enough just how cool it makes me feel as a dad to be teaching the correct squat form etc to my own kid! Just thought I'd share!

That's really good. One day my 13 daughter trained back with me and did every set every rep. She's in PT right now for a leg injury and the PT dude wants me to take her to the gym regularly after he's done with her. I look forward to it !

I cant wait for my daughter gets a couple years on her! My son too but hes younger

I used to bring mine 20 years ago when they were 3 and 5. I would give them the 1 lb heavy hands and they would do every thing I did. Then they grow up and their interests change. I would do it over in a heartbeat.
You guys are their heroes right now. Cherish this time and utilize it to instill good values and a healthy lifestyle in them.

I have tried over the years to get either or both of my sons to come train with me. They kept getting tired of having to pull weight off and put it back on again and wound up going to do their own thing.
Neither one really works out now. My older son, trhe 135lb shrimp does occassionally, the younger son, the 250lb red neck doesn't at all; and he has a 6-pack. Yep! Carries one with him wherever he goes. JK!

well by the time my son will be 16 ill be 50 ( jesus christ)

I hope im in good enough shape to take my kids to the gym when they are old enough to really go

Once a lifter always a lifter Ozzy. It you stick with it you will be. I let life get in my way and got back to it at 42 and muscle memory is a beautiful thing. Just takes longer to recover. And the cracking old joints don't like heavy weights. My 12 year younger training partner hated me cause I blew up from muscle memory.

Fantastic.. and to add to your teaching.. Just being able to spend quality time with her.. Thats got to be great

Brother, I'll be 60 on two more years, or maybe three I forget, but I'm stronger than 99.5% of the "kids" in my gym and physically more muscular than anyone else in my gym, at least that I have seen. Of course my belly is probably more distended than anyone else in my gym too, but that's another story.
You'll be fine gramps!:splat:
