world record RAW bench

I do consider raw to be just that absolutely raw. Here he's using a belt and singlet which in all honesty may not help as much as a bench shirt but that's not truely raw. Great bench for the minimal equipment used but I don't personally find it to be raw.

In competition the singlet is usually a required attire. You can't show up in cut-offs and a T-shirt; i tried once. The belt I don't see helping with the lift at all. For me it just causes cramps. I used to try wearing a belt to hold my umbillicle hernia in but it never worked.
All that said, it is impressive for sure. But the 2nd lift at 716 I think would not have counted in any meet I've been in and the "record" (I'm not hating by any means) is very questionable. Every meet I've competed in they tell you when to lift. You lower the bar then a judge will holler lift. Even in training I always count to three before the concentric part of the movement.
Still an awesome lift! And I'm still trying for 600lbs. Of course I'm pushing daisies (60 )in a couple of years.

Damn that's some power! I'm no judge, but that looked legit to me. Much respect to him!

Looked legit to me too Hank! Much respect. Spoto is strong as an ox!

I'm far from a PL'er so I could just google it.. Or I can ask you guys! What is he sniffing before the lift?? I assume it clears his lungs? Or gives a spike of strength/energy?

Ammonia caps. I clears the head and sort of prepares the brain for all of the blood that is about to rush into it due to a major hyperventilation. In other words it helps keep you from passing out.

Eric is a good dude glad he nailed that and it's awesome to see the rhino right by his side

Yep!
And after viewing the video several times I think the 722lb would probably ahve been a good lift. He didn't bounce, the bar was controlled all the way down and back up. He got a bit out of line on the way up but pulled it out nicely. I'd have respectfully call it a clean lift and just admit to my jealousy.
