This is what's left of my 911, after I let my buddy drive it.
What a mistake that was. He lied to me. I trusted the fuck, and he lied.
I asked him if he was okay to drive. Sadly, I believed him. It's amazing how well some people can handle it. Not only was he drunk, his BAC was .28. On top of that, his license was revoked due to a previous DUI.
But as you can see in the pic, he went full Paul Walker. We should be dead, or at a minimum, partially paralyzed. My neuro-doc told me flatly that my Jiu-Jitsu, and steady diet of dead lifts, are what kept me and my back intact; allowing me to come away with "only" a broken back. Specifically the L1 and L2 vertebrae.
That said... F'ing A... Porsche engineers are bad ass. The survivability of the car is amazing. I let him drive, so I got to test out the passenger side. My front and Side airbags deployed. But look at the dent my head made in the f'ing windshield.
Resulting in only a moderate concussion.
This car is half its normal size.
So while I'm at it, I can't handle the thought of not training for four months. Anyone been in a situation like this? Broken back? Is the notion of going to the gym and using isolation gear reasonable? I.E., Hammer chest, arms, maybe even some back work.
