Been a while

First wanted to say sorry for being MIA, it's been a couple of years out of the gym and everything else. I wanted to thank Lifts for keeping me around (thanks bro) Even when I was around I was never one to post a lot. I'm the strong silent type haha.

Turned 48 a few months back and starting to feel it. Figured, that's the my body telling me to get back at it. Being I've been off for 3 years I wan't to start again.

I'm excited and a tad nervous. I don't plan on doing anything crazy but would like the extra help. I'm sure I'm going to be a sore SOB for the next few weeks.

Any advice that might help me at this I don't wan't to tear something and be out again that worries me a lot to.

Thanks guy's I'm ready to get back at it. Just scared about the nerve in my neck and it getting pinched again. I was in pain for almost 4 moths with no break. I went from doing 90 push ups to not even able to do 1. Pain meds helped a little, coming off them hurt even more. Started smoking some pot which helped with the pain management and throw away the pain pills. That was the best decision i made. So fast forward 3 years later and it's time.

Any advice on some good neck movements to help strengthen my neck and get it strong? I know there's a good chance of the disk pinching the nerve again and am trying to find some good stretching and strength movements. Anyone have any issues like this and can give me some advice?

Thanks for everything.

Hey Rajin long time no see dude welcome back!

I would go relatively light and work on getting your form & coordination down on all exercises for awhile until you feel back in the groove. Do like 3 sets of everything for 10-12 reps, and don't go anywhere near failure, but leave like 3 in the tank. After 3-4 weeks of that, I would gradually start upping the intensity. You have muscle memory working for you, so you will be surprised how fast the gains come back in due time if you eat right & stay consistent with the iron.
