Cardio in the mornings.

I've been going over this and researching it for a while now and just decided to see what everyone else thought. I'm totally changing the diet up and start doing my cardio in the mornings first thing. From what I've read, the body is in a catabolic state upon waking so one should drink a shake first thing when you get up. Here's my issue. Would that extra half an hour make a difference while I'm doing cardio? I was going to get up, have a cup of coffee (just about have to anyway), cardio for about 30mins, then throw down a shake. Sound good to you all? I just thought that's pretty much the way everyone else did it already. I know everyone has their own plan for what works best for them, but that part seems to be pretty common. Also, how about at night? This is more of a diet question though, should I have a casein shake, eat some cottage cheese, or another option? I train at about 4 in the afternoon if that makes a difference, but I don't think it should. I posted another program about a week ago or so but I've changed my schedule at work to better my options. I had to make the gym more of a priority. Thanks

cardio in the am after coffee is a good idea...shake afterwards...also, casein, cottage cheese at night is good 2 go

if you're natty.. I'd have small meal consisting of 50 g of protein and 23g of oatmeal and then hit cardio 1 - 1 1/2 hr later.

I would but I don't have that kind of time in the mornings. I'm having to go into work an hour earlier now that I've changed my schedule to hit the gym at 4 in the afternoon.. I was also thinking of doing a bit of cardio after training. Should I also hold off on the PWO shake until after the cardio? at least on the days I do cardio?

At the least, 25g Iso shake w/ 5-10 grams of BCAA's pre-cardio is a must.

At night, it depends on when your last carb meal was...Salmon would be a better choice over a casein shake if it's your last meal of the night.

So the quality fats in the salmon are better than the longer digesting proteins?
