I'm so tired after a day at work (working double shifts and six days a week) that I have no energy left for cardio.... and that makes me feel terribly guilty. I walk a lot for work though. Does that count?

I think that counts. I walked to Pizza Pizza across the road instead of driving. I figured I could eat at least two more slices than I normally would because of that extra cardio...it's all a matter of perspective.

What I mean is that I walk from one side of the precinct to the other (I have no idea how many miles that is but believe me, it's a long distance and I walk rather fast. I also take the stairs instead of the elevator, I don't take breaks between sets at the gym .... every little bit counts ...

You work at a precinct that is miles long?

No, I have to walk long distances between the different streets that are part of the precinct I work at.

yeah im sure that counts it helps in burning calories but running has a different effect on your body it obviously burns more calories but it also promotes a higher redblood cell count over time and also promotes more mitochondria;s which is where most of our energy is made and is where fat is broken down so you naturally become a better fat burner and more energenic but thats over a long time

I can't run, I have bad knees (both meniscuses removed, torn ligaments).

do something low impact on the knees but bring ur heart rate up alot i dunno if u can do the elpitical or if that hurts ur knees alot

a bike can still give you good cardio.. just do wut u can if it starts to hurt ur knees back off

I try to listen to my body - especially now that I'm getting older. More aches and pains, you don't know yet how it goes but you'll get there one day :worried:
