This is a Christmas tree.
It is not a Hanukkah bush,
it is not an Allah plant,
it is not a Holiday hedge.
It is a CHRISTmas tree.

Say it... CHRISTmas , CHRISTmas , CHRISTmas

Yes. CHRISTmas - celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ!!!

NOt sure what your point was. Yes - the thing in that picture is a christmas tree. Very good. Are you trying to offend people of other religions, or just point out that that is in fact a christmas tree?

EDIT: Hmmm that came out wrong... The picture is a christmas tree - no one is going to deny that... but I'm not sure what your point was at the beginning - unless it was just to be offensive to people of other religions.
That's better.

It's a national holiday...It's kind of taken it's own meaning. Odd but true..

Yeah, I'm an athiest, but I could care less what this holiday is called. People honestly need to find important issues to argue about in this country.

I'm tired of Chirstians enforcing their religion on everyone. And I'm sick of people of other religions being so damn defensive about a silly thing like CHRISTMAS!!

We've got children becoming crack whores at 12 years old. We've got women struggling to take care of 5-6 children whilst working and going to school. We've got a government that is trying to control us.

And we're talking about Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas like it has a large bearing on our lives as Americans.

I agree g4e.

It's a CHRISTmas tree....CHRIST was born on Christmas. That's all it's saying. If you don't believe in God, that's fine, but I'm pretty sure g4e wasn't posting it to offend anyone. It's just that Xmas is so fucking commercialized and all the emphasis is on buying stuff for people, that the true meaning is sometimes lost. And most don't care. Christmas is about CHRIST.

Right, the point isn't about the commericialization of christmas - it was the cracks about the other religions that may want to decorate their houses and have a name for their decorations. I agree that the whole meaning of the holiday is lost on most people. The first post didnt' come across that way.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the exact thing I am trying to say.......plain and simple. thank you IG for summing that up.

PT am I trying to offend anyone?.........NO.........would I be offended if they said happy hanukkah ??
No I would not, but this country is getting into sad shape, we are getting to a point where walmart will not even use the phrase Merry Christmas in their ads or store anymore because they are worried we will offend someone. Please give me a break.

If I offend you by saying this, then I am sorry, you are too easily offended. But I am saying what I feel, everyone else spouts out what they want, and I will too. This country was founded on God by Christians. And they even want to take "In God we trust" off the money. No one forced them to come to America, why did they come here if they can't stand what we belive in???

Can you imagine going to the middle east and complaining about their holidays and how it offended you? they would just shoot you or throw you in prison. I have had enough.............there my rant is over. If you are pissed at me, fine. I will go on with my life. :yesway:

I wasn't offended... I just didn't really see the point of bringing other religions into it. Wanted to understand the thought process ;)

Well said, IG.

As a Canadians, IG and I live in themost progressive, inclusive and politically correct country in the world. But sometimes, politically correctness backfires and discriminates against a larger group.

Do Jewish People worry about calling their celebrations other names so as to not include other groups? Muslims? Hindus? No. What we have to learn to do is respect each others' beliefs and not try to include EVERYONE in EVERYTHING.

"Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"? Doesn't matter as long as you propagate one of them. Corporate America does neither...Walmart and their "you have to get this item or you will be miserable" marketing makes most people feel depressed and stressed at Christmas.

My advice, watch a Christmas movie with your children, give a gift to a needy family, hug your wife. Then, after you leave church on Christmas Eve or Day, you will FEEL what it is about. Not the freaking gifts under the CHRISTmas tree.

Jeez, it's great to BELIEVE in something. I think I'll go make a snow angel.

Happy Holidays, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and Christmas to you all...

well said..............:)

I think it's great that people choose to believe in God. When a person becomes a better human in light of finding Christ....that's wonderful!! Although I've seen from a great deal of experience that a lot of people become MORE judgemental and spiteful when they become Christian. Something to think about. Let your God decide who goes to hell....because humans haven't the comprehension of heaven or hell...that's why they call it faith. And if your faith is so strong....why does it bother so many Christians about other religions, athiests, and agnostics asking for their "God" given right? See..."God" given right? That's not right. It's our "American" given right. Our forefathers gave us that right. They allowed us to CHOOSE. So what right to people have to INFLICT religion on others?

Yes and along the way we decided that it would be best for people to make their OWN decisions about their spirituality. So having things like "In God We Trust" would go against our beliefs as Americans...would it not? That doesn't mean that "it's WRONG" to have that on our money. No...It just doesn't apply to us all as Americans. It creates inferiority amongst the people! Because Christians believe that if you don't believe in Christ you're going to hell. OH GEE...thanks. So to PUSH that kind of religion on a country's people and then have the conceitedness to say that we're UNTOLERABLE of Christianity.....give me a break.

Love to everyone everywhere.

Dizzy, thank you for your opinions, you see people that have common sense (like yourself) can express their opinions like you did and no one gets upset, because you say it with intelligence and I respect that. Carry on bro..........
