Deadlift and Height

If I guy is 6'5" versus a guy that's 5'6" pulling deadlift of the floor, would it be more beneficial for the taller guy to raise the bar of the floor (no particular height, maybe a few inches) to avoid lower back strain or would you be cheating yourself. Keep in mind you would pulling conventional style.
 
maybe it would....yea, just do them from a rack. simply lower the safety's a few inches up from the floor level, seems that way the 6-5 guy would not have to bend over so far to start....he'll have more starting leverage.
 
My thoughts exactly, i dont see why you wouldnt get the same workout from it
 
That would work, but you should always break the deadlift with leg and glute strength and not back.
 
Ofcourse, I used to compete in power meets and had a 600lb dl, but never really seen the gains my bro did at 5' 6" pulling 565lb. So i figured the distance from the ground had a little to do with it
