I FUKED UP MY HAMSTRING AND QUAD REALLY BAD YESTERDAY PLAYING FOOTBALL...

NOW MY QUESTION IS, DO YOU STRETCH BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER..

IVE HEARD AFTER IS BEST..

DOES THIS WORK FOR BOTH THE GYM AS WELL AS SPORTS ACTIVITIES?????

IVE READ ALOT OF PEOPLE ON PM.COM SAY AFTER IS BEST...

THANKS,

LOVE,

RIPPED

lmao...so wat does that mean...sretch or no stretch

i know you little bitches stretch....

the problem is i have so much muscle quality in my legs i need alot of stretching done;)

just call me michael johnson

I just do a warmup set that incorporates deep reps, so i guess i kinda stretch.....but during my workout i will occasionally stretch out the muscle, normally after i scream and do a most muscular pose in front of all the dumbell racks...:D

I never stretch
There enough information going back in forth saying both are good and both are bad

But when i was young and wrestling and playing football I never stretched because I thought it was a waste of time.

As i got older i never did it for that same reason, ive never suffered an injury that could be related to not stretching, so ill continue to never do it

Nope, ive been playing high level sports since I was a little kid

It was hockey and wrestling, then wrestling and football, and then MMA, then boxing.

Now i just do BJJ in my spare time because i cant compete in anything anymore

Never stretched at anytime during any of that
Including all the weight lifting ive done in between

Ive read a number of articals saying that stretching reduced your ability to be as strong as you could, and you also give yourself small muscle tears while doing it.

Ive noticed the strengh loss from stretching unless it was all in my head. So ive just never done it. Waste of time and energy IMO

i read this as well, reason being to do it after....hmm...this is a toughy

It's best at the end IMO, if you do it before you extend the golgi tendon apparatus within each muscle which relaxes the muscle for a period of time , making the stretched muscle less capable of heavy lifting.

yeah i mean if u really want to stretch i would do it after because even lifts who is part genius says its bad to do it before

but as i say im a fan of not doing it period
Ive never seen a negative effect and ive been competing in highlevel sports for over 15 years

would you say this only applies to lifting or both lifting and athletic sports???

I Warm up in the beginning, basic stuff to warm up the rotator. I also like doing arm bars with a fairly heavy kettle bell. On arm days I usually start off with a few low weight high rep sets to get the blood going and the creeks/kinks worked out of the elbows.

As far as lower body, some deep squats with no weight to get the joints going, maybe ride the bike for 5 mins thats it.....I dont do much "stretching" unless i'm getting a nasty burn when i'm working shoulders.

I know its very important to stretch before and after your workout, I hate to cut corners, But when I am done working out I just cant wait to get home to eat!!
