Your thoughts my friends....

Ok my girl and my son and I went to our local chain name gym. Working out and noticed this tool staring at me. kind of the Im buff and tuff stare... since my son was there I thought I would let it go. Next time I go to the gym its me and my girl.... Just so happens the tool was there. I decided to be an adult and ignored him.... well.. Im in the back free weight room and they also have a cable machine... Its just myself and my girl... I see tool boy just left the room and was on a machine in a different area... well I just was finishing a set of chest flies and didn't move but turned and was stretching when I get bumped and this guy is changing out grips on the machine..... Im like WTF !!!!! he says he is circuit training... I say you were gone for a good 10 minutes well he and I got into it and to the point of my girl stepping in between and telling him he was better off just to leave while he still could on his own......... NOW... I know there a assholes out there but this is where the story just ballons..... forward two weeks... its just my girl and I.. we walk into the gym and there are only 2 other people there.. a guy and a girl.. the guy turns out to be a trainer that went to high school with my girlfriend.... so we warm up and do some cardio... and im watching the trainer doing circuit training or crossfit training.... it looked like she was jumping on every machine for just one set each and gabbing a whole lot... well my girl and I go to the back weight room... iM setting up the bench press which is right next to the cable machine....and my girl is setting that up for herself for chest flies..... well she just is about to do her first rep when the trainer comes up kind of loud and is like whoa whoa we have three sets left and literally takes the grip right from her hand.... I giggled to myself thinking poor bastard.... but she just walked away..... which now pissed me off.... the girl took all of 15 seconds to do her rep and I looked at the clock and went to talk to my girl... she said leave it alone he was a jerk in high school and she was fine.......I didn't... after 10 minutes.... yes 10.... they came back to do the second set.... I asked him if it was normal for him to be an ass? and then said isn't it protocol that if a trainer comes up to a machine and someone else is on it the trainer goes to something else? the guy said he told my gf that they would work in on sets... I go no you didn't... he said he did and now im really getting pissed thinking first he is calling my gf a liar and second me an idiot because he saw me next to the cable machine the first. time... I said don't you think you ought to apologize to my gf? he smiled at me and said we are done here....I grabbed him I just meant to spin him around... to get his attention.. he accidently fell over the bench press and smashed his face into a 45 pound plate....

long story short... trainer is not working there.. I talked to the owner explained things and he agreed that the trainer should always give way to whom ever is on the machine at the time... it is their job AS a trainer to figure out alternatives... the owner apologized and gave us 2 months free.....

So what do people thing about gym etiquette and circuit training.... ? I think unless you are a professional you don't need to circuit train... or if you do... a least respect the other people in the gym....

I have no tolerance whatsoever for assholes who jump from machine to machine or want to take up 5 or 6 pieces of equipment at a time. I don't like being an ass but when someone a buck fifty asks to work in a set, I just say sorry buddy, you can work in when I'm done with my sets. Most of the machines I use are olympic plate hammer strength and I don't feel like peeling off a bunch of plates so a knob job can do 1 set.

I'm of the same opinion as lifts. They have cross fit gyms for these fuckin' mooks to train in. There's only one guy that pulls that shit in 'my' gym and every time I see him I get the urge to punch him square in his face.

My last gym was like that real bad. So glad I moved. Just last week the old gym had 25 gym lockers broke into in one night. Then another in the same chain 2 nights later. One night I was using a bar off a tree of bars and I just set it down, Had not even fully stood up yet and some young guy yanks it and starts walking off with it. I flipped out. Followed him looking like a complete mad man and made him put it back. I had just had enough of the bullshit. The gym was really nice, completely redone. Within a month of opening the members had trashed the bathroom. Broke lockers. Broke hooks off the backs of bathroom stalls. Walked off with collars and weights. The place was full of street punk assholes. After I belittled the kid I got some tough guy stares from some of the bigger punks but by then I was working out with some pretty big guys and we were all moving weight. The stares stopped and i moved about 6-8 months later. None of the punks ever racked a plate or dumbell. I really had to tune out while I was there. 20 years ago a gym owner would kick your ass out if you didn't rack your weights.

I must have a pretty good gym because no one there messes with me or anything I'm using. They do stare a lot though which can be awkward.

I haven't had any problems either but I don't really use machines, accept for the leg machines. Probably the biggest problem I've had is waiting for someone to get done lets say with the squat rack. I workout in the morning now so that's not even a problem.

LOL. Oh man is this a sensitive subject for me. I can't stand the screamers who lift nothing or the head bobbers who look in the mirror curling 25lb. LOL. I am a pretty calm gentle dude, but when I come into the gym I am unleashed caged animal that is relentlessly seeing greatness. If you could please get out of my way and not use five pieces of equiptment to make your vagina grow DUDE ID FREAKING APPRECIATE IT. ROARRRR.

Ok I feel better. LOLOLOL!!!

Yea the re racking thing is pretty bad where I lift lol. Same with the screaming and what not. All pretty common. I do a lot of super sets so Ill admit that I am one of those guys but not five or six things. When I do circuit training I use what I have at the house. Free weights, bars and plates with a couple different benches. The curls at the squat rack if fucking hilarious I cant not even count how many people do that. It got so bad at the gym someone put a sign up saying "Squat rack only, curls are done elsewhere". Not sure who did it but it was pretty funny. I have only been to one gym in my life where I have seen an owner kick someone out for not re racking weights. Power Station gym in middletown Ohio. The owner Mike is an ex marine who trains all kinds of MMA guys. I used to train there myself. Pretty bad ass. There is a sign when you walk in that says
"Spitting , grunting, farting and chalk all do exist here. If you have a problem with it leave."
Then the other one says "Cardio is for pussies"
Then another that says "whiners will be given a real reason to whine if caught whining" Lol. I loved that place.

pretty much my thoughts. I'm fine with people working in with me as long as it doesn't change my workout plans.

I try to hit the gym when there are only a couple of people around because I hate to wait for a bench or a machine.

I don't get bothered by anyone eva, I put in my earbuds crank up my music and just pound the weights ppl usually just don't look at me or talk to me which is fine, although I can have an intelligent convo and am nice I don't go out of my way for anyone when I am working out I gotta get in and get it done no fing around I am too old just turned the big 40 u know :D

I make sure to tell all my employees and trainers to yield to the members and be extra fuckin nice about it. Then I ask wtf you were doing circuit bullshit for anyway.
