I vote for pics!!!! :D Hey, I've posted mine from fat to not, so post yours!!!

Oh man...
It is embarassing ;)

A few years ago I did a "fat to not" thing... went from 242lbs down to 202... documented from 237 down to 213lbs... Those are here (keep in mind these are completely "non pumped" and mostly relaxed photos, not trying to look big, just showing fat loss):

And this is what I looked like back in 1996 at 180lbs (from the first EAS contest):

Can you tell I never trained abs at all?? LOL!

OMG, that's awesome Aaron!! Congrats!! That's nothing to be embarrassed about- you should be sooo proud. And you're such a cutie too :) Nice smile!

Thanks for posting them.

never train abs? WTF? even at your heaviest weight I can see some abs! you look good man.........way better than me.

way better than me.

Stop that!!!! Do NOT compare yourself to others- it doesn't work that way. You look great- it's only you that doesn't think you do.

Don't mean to hijack here- sorry :)

IG: Thanks a lot for the confidence boost :D Currently I'm up around 245lbs, but I don't look as bad as I did back then at that weight... I will do some "recent" pictures this weekend if I can get someone to hold the camera for me since I lost the remote to my digital...

G4E: I was talking about the very bottom picture - I seriously didn't ever train abs at that time, so even though my bodyfat was super low (tested at 6% - the graininess of the pics makes it look softer than that). EDIT: At that time you could see even the cross cuts on my thighs, but no abs!!
You look great in your pics. Like IG said, you shouldn't compare yourself to other people - just work to improve yourself!

Yeah... I know... 20lb increase on leg press, pansy thing to do... but I am trying to keep full range of motion so I don't want to jump the weights up too fast like I usually do...

Stretch Hams
Stretch Quads

NOTES:
Happy with the workout - only got 3 and a half hours of sleep last night, so I think I did REALLY good! I got home late from visiting a 'friend'... and when I got home I realized that my right earlobe piercing was infected! I had just stretched it from 4 gauge to 2 gauge on Saturday, and apparently at some point I managed to get it dirty :( Damn! So it was 3am and I was soaking my earlobe in sea salt water, cleaning it with anti-bacterial soap, trying to find something I could put in it that wouldn't irritate it more, but would keep the hole open... I ended up having to downsize to 8 gauge - hopefully I'll be able to get a 6 back in there in a couple of days so I don't have to go through a bunch of stretches again...
Okay... so now it is time to get ready for work! Later!

never heard of doing hammers with a rope, how do them work?

Use a tricep rope on a low pulley... hold it and curl it just like you were doing regular hammers :)
Works pretty well.

ok in your workout you called them 2 arm rope curl, so I was trying to figure how you were using a rope for both arms at once

buffness: Thanks man! I'm hoping that now at 230 I will be looking like I was at 213 in those pictures... but maybe I'm nuts ;)

G4E: I still call them "2 arm rope hammers" for some reason... but in the past I used to do them single arm some of the time and both arms together some of the time, so I needed to specify... old habit. I am using both arms at once - just holding one end of the tricep rope with each hand :D

Big props on the pics my man. You have came a long way brother. Congrats and keep it up!!

This is where I started from... these pics are from high school... I was 130lbs at 6' when I started... (i'm the one in purple in the bottom pic):

Those pics look too familar...lmao. I came from the same situation bro. I'm talking short..............and small!! lol. Bout 5'5 130-135lbs. I was a little squirt

mpresiv: I had 7 inches on ya at the same weight... lol!! Nice work on your part - you're lookin huge these days.

G4E: Thanks man! I've put on about 100lbs... and 1 inch in height ;) lol!

I graduated high school at 6'1" and 160lbs... thinking I was huge... LOL!!

I've got some pics from like '93 and '94 when I was in the 160 range... my friend and I used to take "progress pictures" every now and then... thinking we were badasses... I should get some of those up online for you guys to laugh at!

Wow, you certainly have come a long way!! That's awesome- fantastic job!

Thanks IG :)

the Stimulated Emission of Radiation)

Decline Barbell Bench Press:
LT: 255lbs x 12 RP
TT: 255lbs x 13 RP
Funny... I got 8, 4, 1... after the 4 I thought "Wow I'm going to blow this one out of the water!" then only got 1 on the last part! DOH! Happy with it though.

Smith Behind the Head Press:
LT: 145 x 13 RP
TT: 150 x 9 RP???
Got stuck on a different smith machine this time around... We assumed the bar had 0 weight to it, and put on the plates accordingly... apparently we were wrong.

Smith Close Grip Bench:
LT: 175 x 13 RP
TT: 180 x 12 RP

Stretch chest 105lb dumbells - finally got 60 seconds with it!
Stretch shouders

LT: 14 plates x 12 RP
TT: 14 plates x 14 RP

Supported T-Bar Rows:
LT: 135 x 9 straight set
TT: 145 x 8 straight set

NOTES:
Pretty happy overall with the workout... ac joints on both side are acting up, so are both knees - I think maybe I'm not getting in enough fluids lately... my joints tend to get more sore when I am dehydrated...

Well... I wasn't so happy about this workout... My knees have been hurting me pretty bad all week - like going up and down stairs and getting up from chairs is pretty painful... but I thought "what the hell, I can probably still do squats!" (I'm glad I'm not my own patient, or I would have to kill me)... well anyway, needless to say I couldnt' get through my warmup on squats, tried doing hams - and that hurt the knees also... SO... workout sucked!

Workout
(LT=Last Time TT=This Time RP=Rest Paused)

Cable Bicep Curls:
LT: 12.5 plates x 18 RP
TT: 13.5 plates x 18 RP

Single Arm Cable Reverse Curl (5 second negative each rep):

Stretch

Cybex 45 degree plate loaded calf (5 second negative, 15 second stretch each rep):
LT: 180+sled x 11
TT: 180+sled x 13

Barbell Squat (ass to the floor):
LT: 245 x 6; widowmaker on smith: 195x9 (sad)
TT: unable to do because of patellar tendon pain

Seated Ham Curl:
LT: 140lbs x 20 RP
TT: unable to do because of knee pain

NOTES:
Unhappy about the workout. I also had a pounding headache the whole time I was at the gym... so I'm surprised I was able to kick so much ass on cable curls and calf raises... but I did :D
Nine Inch Nails concert tonight... really looking forward to it!! It is 1:30 now... I am planning to leave at 4:30 for the show... but the problem is that my friend who is supposed to be going with me hasn't called me back in a few days - so I don't know when he is going to show up. I guess I'll be doing some emergency calling of other friends at about 4:15 if I don't see him... Oh well, either way I'll be seeing Nine Inch Nails ;)

Hey Aaron, great job. What knee problems do you have? We'll compare, cause I got all kinds..lol..and I'm feeling it too since I started squatting again. I hope yours start feeling better and don't give you too many problems. And I know what you mean, I'm a nurse and I do lots of things when I should know better. Then I preach to my patients NOT to do it :D

Lucky you, seeing NIN. We don't get too many good concerts where I live. Pearl Jam was just here (well 4 hours away) and that was huge for here. Unfortunately I didn't get to see them :( Have fun!!

Thanks IG :)
My knees have always been bad... right now it is just a flare up of tendonitis in both patellar tendons... combination of things irritated them recently... just have to give it some time to calm down again. Just annoying...

The Nine Inch Nails show was awesome! Apparently the new drummer improved over the last show - because he sounded awesome to me... I dont' know what other people were complaining about (on the NIN message boards)...
The best part was getting to walk right in before the doors officially opened... I signed up for the "premium level" of the official fan club, which turned out to be worth it. We got to go around the side to a special enterance and avoid the massively long line of people waiting to try to get good position in the general admission area... that was available for all fan club members, but as a "premium" member you get to walk right in early ;) The rest had to wait around until the offical door opening time.
Autolux was the first opening act - I hadn't ever heard them before and I thought they sounded pretty interesting... enough that I will probably pick up their CD to get a better listen.
Queens of the Stone Age were the next opening act - they put on a great show... I really like them anyway, and it was great to see them live.
Nine Inch Nails put on an amazing show like I mentioned above... We had good seats with a great view of the stage - pretty close up. The girl next to me was a bit annoying - trying to be a "hardcore fan" and refusing to dance to the songs that were popular on the radio... when Closer came on she actually sat down and kept shaking her head and rolling her eyes - until the end when the beginning from down in it was mixed in and she jumped up then rolled her eyes again when she realized it wasn't really down in it. It was entertaining. In general there was a lot of interesting "scenary" ... lots of fishnets, short skirts, and boots ;)
I took some pics of the stage with my camera phone - but they didn't really come out because it didn't have a zoom on it :(
Anyway... AWESOME show! I was so excited for the show, and it completely lived up to my expectations and then some.

Thanks IG

Sucks doesn't it? I have patellar tendonitis in one knee- it was really bad for awhile. I have a strap that I used to wear when I did lunges, but I don't use it anymore. But since I've started squatting again, it's flared up. Should I wear the strap again for awhile??

I have hypermobile joints- my knees have dislocated a number of times. One my right one, I had a tendon transfer done as a teenager, then a few years ago I started having a lot of problems. Ended up getting it scoped and cleaned up and then had a mosaicplasty done. My ACL was basically gone them too- only remnants left. After the long rehab from the surgery, I had to get an ACL brace. I used to wear it squatting for awhile and then said "fuck that" and haven't used it since. I must say I really haven't had any problems since- nothing major. BUt my surgeon told me my knee was crap and I'd have a replacement by the time I was 65.

Anyhoo, not to hijack your journal, but seeing you are the resident PT ;) I thought I'd share. People don't realize how bad knee problems are unless you experience them yourself.

Wow, the NIN concert sounded deadly!!

IG: sorry took so long to get to this... yeah I would go ahead and try the strap again - if it worked in the past it may work fine now. I'm not a huge fan of them, but if they work - go for it. :) I'll respond more later, in a bit of a rush now ;)

Don't know what happened on Hammer Inclines... but the rest of the workout was great.
On a positive note (to the soap opera portion of this journal) Vicki finally told her boyfriend that he has to find somewhere else to live and that she is sick and tired of his BS. Unfortunately he can't afford a place of his own (he is building a house and can barely afford to keep doing that), and has no friends or family in michigan - so he is out trying to get a loan of some kind to get the hell out. I feel a little bad for the guy - his situation sucks, but he is a complete asshole so he brought it all on himself (the lack of friends, getting fired from his job, etc). Anyway... so the mexico trip in 11 days should be a little less stressful...
