Well I do my chest triceps and shoulders all in one day. Last time I was in the gym I put in a very good workout, maybe doing a bit too many sets to failure. I was sore for the next 2 days which is fine. What caught my attention is that my left pectoral stayed sore after the 2 days even though my right one was pain free completely. Now it has been about a 6 days and when I stretch my left pec, I can still feel a tiny bit amount of soreness in the muscle. The pain is not like I pulled a muscle or ripped something, it is basically muscle soreness due to working out, it just stayed for a long time.
I use the same weights and reps with both arms to train my chest and I am a right handed person.
I feel like there are three possibilities. One, since my left chest is weaker than right, it got a heavier workout than its partner so stayed sore longer. However the extra amount of time it stayed in a sore state is much longer than usual.
Second is that there is something wrong with my form. I pay attention to my breathing and I work out with weights that I can push keeping good form, however sometimes that last 2 reps do come with the help of a little swing from my back and twisting the spine a tad and griding my soles to the ground.
Third..I turned 30 6 months ago, maybe I am just getting old and my body does not recover like it used when I was 20.
