Guys, what's the best way to cook this ugly bastard of a fish?
My local supermarket got some in for the first time so I bought 2 and got the dude to prep them for me.
Man it was an ugly fish!

there is a Cooking with Oly thread..pics included ,skirtboy..:D

Coll, last dumb question.............how do they taste - strong like mackrell or mild like albacore?

haha...fuken Oly...gotta love em'..

Taste like orange roughy or mahi mahi...not as good as those but still mild like them with very mild fish taste.

Enjoy!!

Scottsy get yourself a cast iron skillet nice and hot... get some blackening seasoning let the fishies sit out for about 10 mins, just a tad of oly oil,,,,I mean olive oil, put them bad boys on, flip, serve, repeat... I just had two of them for dindin myself.. or you can just bake or broil them as well. I love them, and salmon for that matter, blackened.. Great stuff.

Hope that helps.. Just another idea..

i use seasoned salt and some lemon juice bake it in the oven for 10 mins...perfect!

Tapout, Medic, Blk....thanks guys, I'm not a fan of strong fish, I didn't really want to stink the house out either. I'll try both methods but if they tast shit I'll blame Oly as it was his idea I try them:D

I wish I had the study. ill do some digging but I hear that Talapia has Omega 6 instead of Omega 3. They compared it to eating Bacon.

Let me do some digging to back it up though....

Talapia is a white fish, so basically fat free bro. You may be thinking of cat fish :) I would like to read that article though....
