I took the English Literature and Composition Exam to get my state teaching certification on March 15th. Just found out I passed, I am so relieved.
Now I can add it to my teaching certifications.
This is a good thing!
I brought champagne home for dinner.
Now it's, study, study, study for the Biology test.

Congrats, you should've studied for the Spanish exam though...

Congrats! What grade do you want to teach?

I have been teaching 9th grade Physical Science for the past three years. Before that I was a Health and Phys. Ed. teacher for four years. I am certified also in Earth and Space Science, General Science, and Special Education. I am studying for the biology exam in June.

I want to be a HS Science teacher, perhaps as a Learning Support Special Education Teacher. That is where the money is.

Teachers teach because they love to, not for the money.

What state are you teaching in ???

I heard an old saying when I was in the Army......."Those that can't do, teach"
Personally, I think it's BS, if you have a skill or knowledge about something, what's wrong in letting others know it too?

Congrats man, I'm doing a First Aid Instructor course next week, UK Govt certified, so I can start a business running courses in first aid at work, I've been an EMT for 14 years, why not pass on some of that knowledge?
Also doing a diploma in Advanced Personal Training, finish in about a year - who says muscle heads are thick?!?!?

I have heard this bullshit before as well. I was a carpentry/masonry specialist in the Army for 6 years, a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Air Force for 6 years, and a Jet Engine Mechanic (for C-130's) in the Air Force for 5 years. Try spending 3 weeks rebuilding a jet engine turbine by yourself and then say what I can't do.
I got tired of the dust, dirt, and grease, that's why I decided to get into teaching. I have an Associate Degree in Aerospace Propulsion, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and 2 Master of Education Degree's (Health and Physical Education and Elementary Education). I have completed 14 years of college.
Besides, I am related to bards in Ireland from pre-roman times, it is my nature and part of my heritage to teach.
Oh yeah, and I'd like to change that saying to, "Those who have learned can teach, those who haven't deserve to bust their hump like a dumbass!"

BTW: I teach in Pennsylvania.

["I've been an EMT for 14 years." QUOTE]

Very cool, my buddy runs an ambulance corps in Birmingham, England.
I thought about EMT school after being a Beach Patrol Lifeguard but decided it is too messy. My hat's off to you!

I'd love to teach but just can't justify the pay and bullshit kids these days

I'm looking at $70K for my next job.
I can live on it, especially because my wife is a research scientist and makes more than that. Good for her.
