Hey guys, I'm thinking of changing up my routine and taking on sum of bufbiker's advice.. the part where he doesnt train arms too dramatically. just some db curls and olympic bar work

i aint as big as you guys with only 17" arms but i only have a 32" waist with a mad ass for butlering :D haha

anyways im thinking of this

BACK
CHEST
REST
LEGS
SHOULDERS
REST

would you throw in an arms day or incorporate 1-2 exercies next to opposing bac/chest like bis with back and tris with chest?
my understanding is arms can easily be overly trained as there used so often, they are definetely my more dominant muscle so i was thinking i could focus elsewere like traps and calves (fast twitch muscles are lacking)!

any advice welcome fellas

Yes that works.

I'm not a fan of arms either and add a few sets of tris after chest and a few bicep sets after back. I aim higher rep (12+)

With all the lifts you have (bench, military press, rows) you're working your arms secondary with some exercises. That's why I don't do much for arms

My reasoning for higher reps when it comes to arms is that your arms get used to the heavy lifts, it's good to change it up and hit the higher reps. Stimulates better growth IMO

This is what has given me best results.

i agree with a.b. that is my layout that you posted there. actually getting better results not training arms then when i was blasting them. i went to that split cause i noticed soreness in my tri's after chest and shoulder days so basicaly i was training tri 3 days a week. bout once a month ill go in and train arms directly just because i love the movements and miss em. stick to good heavy compound movements and youll love the results

Yeah you don't want those guns too get too big dude. :p

j/k

Depends on what you want. If you still want them bigger, I wouldn't stop working them altogether. At least do a few hard sets of the basics like bb or db curls & cg's or skullcrushers. Yeah, Buf don't do alot of volume or exercises, but the exercises he DOES do is basic and heavy. My routine is same as yours, except I also have an arm day. I love the skin splitting pump of bi's & tri's too much to give it up. :D

I do arms but not a lot of volume. Mainly because as already stated we train arms with every upper body exercise we do. And arms, even my 20+" guns are relatively small muscle groups compared to other muscle groups.
IMO arms are the most over trained part of the body.
